COVID-19 continues to surge in the Quinte region.
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health has released their first COVID-19 report today, since the holiday break.
Staff have announced that they have logged 1,208 new high-risk infections. There are now 2,431 active high-risk infections to date between the two counties.
Another two COVID-19 related deaths have been added in the report. The health unit has now recorded 140 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
Local hospital data has not been updated at this time.
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting four active COVID-19 outbreaks in high-risk settings. The latest declared yesterday at Belleville General Hospital’s Quinte 5 floor. The other active outbreaks are at Quinte Gardens Retirement Home, Quinte Health Care’s Transitional Unit and Arabella Retirement Home, all of which are in Belleville.
