Staff at the local hospital network have issued a statement this morning, as the region continues to deal with high levels of respiratory illness.
Quinte Health is currently dealing with very high patient levels across all four local emergency departments.
Staff add in their statement this morning, that the sickest and most seriously injured will be seen first. They continue to remind the community that the team is there for them and encourage folks to go to the Emergency Department in an urgent situation.
Those with less urgent needs will continue to experience longer than usual wait times. Face masks continue to be mandatory in all patient facing areas including in the ER.
