School buses not running for the second day in a row for many students

Tri-Board Transportation has cancelled buses today that service the southern part of the Quinte area.

School buses have been cancelled in Belleville, Quinte West, Prince Edward County, Centre Hastings, Central and South Lennox and Addington.

Schools will remain open.

Environment Canada is calling for 2 cm of freezing rain and ice pellets, set to start around noon and last late this evening. We’ll just hover at the freezing mark today. Slippery conditions will continue overnight with another 2 cm of a snow and rain mix. Low of -2 Celsius.

The region is currently under a freezing rain warning.

Loyalist College remains open and the first day of classes are running as scheduled.

Yesterday, all school buses were off the road due to the snow storm.

FNTI in Tyendinaga is closed today.
