There is a new fishing derby coming to the region.
The Quinte Walleye Festival will take place in the Bay of Quinte from May 2nd to 3rd. The Competitive Sport Fishing League is behind the event.
The festival will fill the void left behind by the Walleye World Fishing Derby. The Trenton Kiwanis Club cancelled the event that was set for May of this year. The local team cited a lack of volunteers and members.
