Structure fire this morning along Bridge Street East in Belleville

There was a structure fire at 94 Bridge Street East this morning at 8 a.m.

Emergency crews were called to the blaze in an upstairs unit. The fire was contained to the one apartment. All occupants were able to get out safely and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The area around the building has been closed to traffic. Bridge Street East remains closed between George Street and Church Street. John Street is closed between Queen Street and Bridge Street East.
