The intersection of Bridge Street East and Herchimer Road is closed to traffic.
Belleville Police have confirmed that around 10 a.m., a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.
Officers expect the area will to be closed for an extended period of time. Police have not released details about the status of the pedestrian involved.
Afternoon Update – Belleville Police have announced that the 26-year-old pedestrian involved was transported to hospital and was pronounced dead. Police continue to investigate.
