It will be a party in Picton on Canada Day!
Here is the full statement from county staff about what you can expect if you head down to Picton on Wednesday.
Road closures and parking restrictions will be in place in Picton on Wednesday, July 1 for Canada Day activities between 11 am and 4:30 pm.
Road Closures and Alternate Routes
- Picton Main Street will be closed from Bridge Street to Elizabeth Street. Ross Street and Elizabeth Street from Picton Main Street to Mary Street will also be closed.
- Alternate routes:
- Picton Main Street East to Paul Street to King Street to Bowery Street.
- Mary Street West to East Mary Street and Bridge Street to Picton Main Street.
Parking Restrictions and Enforcement
- There will be no parking on Picton Main Street after 9 am on Wednesday, July 1.
- There will be no access to Market Square parking from Ross Street behind Picton Town Hall. Market Square will be accessible from King Street and Paul Street.
- Parking is free on July 1 because of the holiday.
- Please note: By-law enforcement officers will be on patrol and ticketing vehicles parked in restricted areas.
Emergency Vehicles
- The westbound lane of Picton Main Street will be kept clear of any structures to provide access for emergency vehicles.
- The alternate emergency route will include King Street.
