A growing number of residents in the Bay of Quinte region, are sharing online that they have been sick.
With many reporting fever, chills, respiratory issues, and vomiting, with symptoms lingering for up to two weeks.
The regional health unit, South East Public Health, which serves Quinte and Kingston, has once again brought back its Respiratory Virus Surveillance dashboard this fall.
New data is updated every Tuesday on the health unit’s website.
The health unit is indeed reporting this week that the region is in a high-risk period, with test positivity for Covid, influenza and RSV above the risk threshold. Covid rates are trending up this week since last week, while rates for influenza and RSV have remained level.
Eight covid patients this week are in hospitals within the Southeast Public Health region.
Health officials continue to encourage the public to stay home when they are sick, avoid spreading illnesses to others, and seek medical attention if symptoms linger or escalate.
